The Sean Ashford Music Fund was established in memory of Sean Michael Ashford, a music industry veteran who died tragically in a motorcycle accident on July 27, 2012. The fund is designed to continue Sean’s legacy of unbridled support of local music in North Texas. Money from the fund will be used to ensure aspiring, young musicians in North Texas have access to musical instruments, teachers to teach, and venues to hone their craft and entertain.
Before Sean prematurely left this world, his passion for music was evident as he would go to any length to help musicians in the North Texas area. Through his work at the legendary Bronco Bowl and Trees in famed Deep Ellum, he was able to put local musicians in front of audiences they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to reach. He also reveled in catching the best music the city had to offer each week, most often from the side of the stage or front row, as he was a master of attaining the best ticket in town. He was certainly known as one of the kings of the Dallas music scene.
The Ashford Music Fund will raise money through contributions, fund-raisers, auctions, and a variety of annual events. The Ashford Music Fund was established with auction proceeds from Sean’s personal rock and roll memorabilia collection spanning decades.
